J.W. is a veteran marketer and sponsorship professional with 16+ years of experience in engaging consumers with high-profile brands such as The Home Depot, Bank of America, AutoTrader.com, ING and UPS.
At UPS, J.W. oversees the strategy and activation of UPS’ largest sponsorship platform in college sports, which includes the NCAA, 3 conferences, 70 schools and 5 brand spokespeople. He negotiated UPS’ landmark deal with IMG College which included the collective multimedia rights for the previously mentioned 70 schools – still the largest one-time deal of its kind. He also oversees the company’s local sponsorship strategy and the corporate events function, which annually executes over 300 events for the company worldwide.
Prior to joining UPS, J.W. was with the Dutch bank, ING (now Voya Financial), where he had management of various sponsorship, ING Foundation, government affairs and multicultural programs, including the ING Renault F1 Team, ING NYC Marathon and the National Teacher of the Year Award.
